TraceabilityLite is a combined requirements management and general traceability tool that uses documents as the database. This means exports from the database are unnecessary, and the content is already in a form suitable for placement into a product data management tool for configuration control.
This approach means TraceabilityLite can be used for traditional purposes such as requirement gathering; linking an SRS or BRD document to a traceability matrix in another document (for example, a verification cross-reference matrix, risk matrix, or issues and decisions log); performing gap analysis; decomposing subsystem requirements; and creating Secure By Design or other threat analyses. Both the free and paid versions of the requirements management tool can be used to generate example projects from MS Word or MS Excel templates. The ability to link to paragraph text extends the capability of the tool beyond the outdated database-based way of working by enabling users to link to free-form text (for example, design documentation or process documentation) for uses such as a fully traceable design, security target, or Cyber Essentials requirements decomposition.

Check your Acronyms
TraceabilityLite can scan added documents to identify acronyms within the local document or across other documents within the project, helping teams generate a table of acronyms more efficiently.
Submit to configuration control
TraceabilityLite avoids repetitive, time-consuming, and sometimes costly export-and-reformat cycles by reading links directly from project documentation.
When finished, simply submit the documentation to a product data management tool such as Windchill, Teamcenter, SharePoint, or Google Drive. This has the added benefit of storing the link information in the same configuration management tool as the documentation, avoiding the need to run one set of configuration control in a documentation tool and a second process in a requirements management tool.
